THE ROLE

Reporting to the Finance Director – SG Food, your responsibility is to build a strong business partnership relationship with the leadership for food business in Singapore, becoming a trusted and valued member of their teams. You will be working directly with the operations director to help manage banner/store performance and profitability, design and deliver BAU and strategic initiatives that can drive our company forward, making a direct impact on our customers.

  • Shape the role of financial business partnership in Southeast Asia by developing trusted relationship with the leadership to identify and deliver initiatives to grow volumes and profitability. 
  • Lead the annual budget and rolling forecasts of overall banner/store P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, by partnering closely with the leadership team and collaborating with other FBPs and finance functions. Participate in strategy meetings to understand the direction setting of the company. Participate in target setting and ensure that both short- and long-term priorities are catered for.
  • Drive the weekly trade meetings, store performance management and loss making stores review with the operations team, define and track KPIs, provide actionable insights using the digital tools and market insights available, and use these insights to identify opportunities and risks, prioritize and make recommendations.
  • Support the REC process for property expansion plan, lease renewals by developing financial models and scenario analyses, challenge business assumptions and make recommendation, track post performance and highlight key learnings.
  • Identify and define process improvements and digitalization journey to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of driving better performance.
  • Coach the commercial finance business partner to deliver sales and margins targets in the P&L
     

ABOUT YOU

  • A CA/CPA/CIMA/CFA qualification is preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant business partnering experience working with complex organisations, turnaround, fast paced environment, preferably within supermarket retail or big 4
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices 
  • Proficiency in financial modelling techniques to support property decision-making and scenario analysis
  • Experience working with and influencing non-financial stakeholders especially Operations / Sales / Commercial / Merchandising / Buying functions
  • Superior time management, with the ability to prioritise tasks within a challenging environment
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with digital tools i.e. SAP BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Automation are desirable
