We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth operations in the sushi section. This role requires precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of Japanese cuisine.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute high-quality sushi, including sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and other Japanese dishes
- Ensure consistency in presentation, taste, and quality of all sushi dishes
- Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and ensure fresh ingredients are always available
- Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation, following food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist in menu planning and developing new sushi creations
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all seafood and perishable ingredients
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain smooth operations
- Uphold restaurant quality standards and customer satisfaction
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a Japanese restaurant
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation, knife skills, and Japanese culinary techniques
- Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Team player with strong communication and leadership skills
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and continuous learning
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
