Job Details

The cashier will be responsible for processing customer purchases, handling payments, issuing receipts, and maintaining a positive customer experience. They will work closely with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, manage cash flow, and perform basic customer service duties.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Transactions:

• Operate cash registers to process sales transactions.
• Handle payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or digital methods (e.g., mobile payments).
• Provide accurate change and receipts to customers.

       2. Customer Service:

• Greet customers with a friendly and approachable attitude.
• Answer customer questions about products, services, and promotions.
• Assist with product returns, exchanges, or complaints following store policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.

      3. Cash Management:

• Count and verify cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts
• Ensure proper handling of cash and keep track of cash register transactions
• Reconcile discrepancies and report issues to supervisor

     4. Product Scanning and Bagging:

• Scan items accurately to ensure proper pricing and quantities
• Bag items in a safe and efficient manner

     5. Store Maintenance:

• Assist in maintaining store cleanliness by tidying up the register area and surrounding areas
• Stock shelves and assist with inventory when needed

     6. Compliance and Security:

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Report any suspicious activity or theft immediately to management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
