Position: Technical Sales Engineer (Water / Wastewater)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve customers by identifying their needs and providing engineered adaptations of products, equipment, and services
  • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and existing customers and consultants
  • Prepare solution proposals and participate in tenders, including preparation of tender documents
  • Provide technical and engineering information about products, services, or equipment by answering questions and requests
  • Establish and service accounts by identifying potential customers and organizing a sales call schedule
  • Prepare cost estimates by studying customer documents and consulting with engineers, architects, and other professionals
  • Analyze cost-benefit ratios to determine improvements in customer environments through equipment, process, or material changes
  • Gain customer acceptance by demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements
  • Submit orders by collaborating with technical support staff and costing engineering changes
  • Assist in customer staff development by providing technical information and training
  • Stay compliant with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Prepare sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales and application trends
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and professional society participation
  • Contribute to team efforts by addressing short- and long-term issues and recommending action plans

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, business administration, or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years of industry sales experience
  • Strong understanding of rental and leasing business models and their financial implications
  • Proficient in CRM software, MS Office, and tools for preparing technical and commercial proposals
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including to remote locations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong technical product knowledge with analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in water treatment and wastewater management systems
  • Experience in commissioning, maintenance, or service is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for water industries (Water Services Industry Act 2006 (WSIA), SPAN, and Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009)
  • Familiarity with water treatment processes (filtration, RO, MBR, DAF, chemical dosing systems)
  • Proven track record in similar roles
