Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipment or delivery of products, parts, and accessories to the customer's required destination, and follow up with shipping service providers to ensure on-time delivery
- Check the completeness and accuracy of shipping documentation and ensure that submissions are made immediately to transporters or freight forwarders to avoid delays and minimize or reduce storage charges
- Liaise with freight forwarders/ liners to obtain the best freight rates, inland transportation rates, and insurance rates, and also the sailing schedule based on the agreed delivery term
- Liaise with customers on confirmation of shipping documents and shipment schedule. Ensure shipping documents sent to the customer are correct, complete, and on time
- Carry out any other duties or ad hoc tasks as assigned by Management
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics/ Transportation/ Shipping/ Business Administration or its equivalent
- At least five (3) years of work experience in logistics or the shipping industry
- Good understanding and well versed with export and import shipping regulations of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI)
- Preferably bilingual in English & Bahasa Malaysia
- We are looking for someone who is fluent in Mandarin as the role requires dealing with Mandarin-speaking suppliers from China
- Proactive, trustworthy, accountable, reliable when dealing with confidential information, multi-tasking, and good reporting skills
- Self-motivated, independent, and can work with minimum supervision and guidance
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
