Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily shipment planning is done for all outbound distribution
- Manage and work with the warehouse supervisor to monitor truck loading efficiency and compliance
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary
- Develop relationships with current and new vendors and continually negotiate competitive rates with them
- Manage, brief, and train the ground team to make sure the operation execution follows SOP
- Respond to customer needs by answering e-mails, phone calls, tracking shipments, and moving shipments
- Identify and select the best mode of transportation to reduce costs
