Position Summary:

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to manage and execute daily financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable, e-invoicing, employee expense claims, intercompany transactions, inventory management, month-end closing, audit and tax support, and other ad hoc assignments. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and provides administrative and analytical support to the Head of Department.

Job Responsibilities:

Daily Financial Operations

  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): invoicing, collections, payment applications, dispute resolutions, and overdue monitoring
  • Process Accounts Payable (AP): vendor invoices, employee expense claims, intercompany transactions
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, verify purchase price variances, shipping bills per Incoterms, and ensure 3-way matching and proper approvals
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments; monitor cash flow and bank guarantee renewals
  • Handle AR & AP tax matters: withholding tax, self-billed service tax, e-invoicing, and ensure compliance with Malaysia tax regulations
  • Coordinate scheduled waste and scrap billings in line with DOE and LMW regulations
  • Support month-end closing activities: accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Assist with statutory audit and tax queries related to daily transactions
  • Prepare inventory count reports and fixed assets verification documents
  • Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reports as required
  • Handle small ledger accounting for SEA countries: payroll entries, daily expenses, tax bookings, and coordination with local accounting firms for tax and statutory filings
  • Collaborate on e-invoicing rollout, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, ISO, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Act within the authorized scope to deliver expected outcomes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and Malaysia tax treatments related to AR/AP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Experience with LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) processes
  • ERP experience, particularly in Oracle
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin
