Job Summary:

Our client is looking for a versatile and technically skilled Production Technician to support the manufacturing of cut paper swabs and other lab-based production activities. This role involves operating automated machinery, performing quality checks, and executing basic mechanical troubleshooting. The technician will also be rotated to support tasks such as component assembly and calibrant preparation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor automated machines for swab production, including material loading, machine operation, QC testing, and packing.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting and basic maintenance (e.g., changing blades, adjusting alignments and feeds, resolving machine errors).
• Accurately record production and quality data.
• Support other lab-based production tasks, including assembling components and calibrants, and handling/labeling parts for test kits.
• Maintain inventory and traceability of raw materials, ensuring proper storage and usage.
• Rotate between different production areas based on operational needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with safety and quality protocols.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities related to production efficiency and quality.
• Other duties as required.

Job Requirements:

• Education:

  • Minimum diploma or equivalent.

• Experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving automated machinery.

• Knowledge/Skills:
  • Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and machine operation.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles including Kanban, Cycle counting, and 5S.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Working Hours & Benefits

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm. Saturday & Sunday off. Overtime depends on production volume.

• Meal subsidy: RM8/day
