Job Description

• Develop, review, and refine civil and structural engineering designs, drawings, and calculations based on project requirements.
• Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or Tekla to create and analyze structural models.
• Ensure designs meet safety, functionality, and sustainability standards while adhering to local and international codes (e.g., Eurocode, BS, ACI, ASCE).
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to develop efficient and cost-effective design solutions.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with design specifications and construction standards.
• Provide technical support during tendering processes, including preparing design documentation and cost estimates.
• Provide engineering support during construction phases, including design modifications, resolving technical issues, and ensuring quality control.
• Conduct site inspections and structural assessments to ensure designs are properly implemented on-site.
• Identify and address structural deficiencies or potential risks through engineering solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant engineering codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, feasibility studies, and structural integrity evaluations to ensure project viability and safety.
• Participate in design reviews and quality audits to maintain high engineering standards.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, structural drawings, and project specifications for internal and client review.
• Maintain accurate records of design calculations, approvals, and project milestones.
• Assist in preparing Bill of Quantities (BQ) and material specifications for project execution.
• Stay updated on advancements in construction materials, engineering methodologies, and structural design software.
• Contribute to process improvements and innovative engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers, drafters, and interns in structural design principles and best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met.

Job Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in civil or structural design, preferably in building, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, Tekla, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode, BS, ACI, ASCE).
• Experience in preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A team player with a proactive and positive work attitude.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new technologies and engineering methodologies.
• Proficiency in English, Chinese and Malay (spoken & written).
• Own transport required for site visits and project coordination.
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
