Job Scope:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Catering Head Chef to join our team at our central kitchen located in KL. As the Catering Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the culinary operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services for our catering business.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Menu Planning: Create innovative and appealing menus for a variety of catering events, considering client preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal ingredients.
• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes according to established recipes, ensuring excellent taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and support personnel, ensuring a productive and harmonious work environment.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining appropriate stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
• Cost Control: Monitor food and labor costs to ensure profitability, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize wastage.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
• Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their specific catering needs, provide professional guidance, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Staff Training: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, such as event planning and sales, to ensure seamless execution of catering services and contribute to business growth.
 
Requirements:
 
• Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, with a strong background in catering operations.
• Menu Development Skills: Ability to create diverse and appealing menus, incorporating various cuisines and dietary preferences.
• Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and management skills to guide and motivate a team of culinary professionals.
• Food Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of food safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Creativity and Innovation: Ability to think creatively, introduce new culinary concepts, and adapt to changing market trends.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and team members.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to resolving challenges and finding practical solutions in a fast-paced catering environment.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per business requirements.
 
Qualifications: 
A culinary degree or relevant certification in culinary arts is preferred.
