Job Position- Chemical Operation Technician

Job Description

​PROCESS ACTIVITIES

1.Good understanding on overall process flow (What the process does), process application (How the process work), control method (What conditions are controlled & how the process is controlled), all safety & health impact and environment aspect of the operation.

2.To coordinate with Lab / Packaging / Maintenance Technicians, Warehouse supervisor on inter-related activities involving areas such as sample analysis, ,mpackingaterial receiving, maintenance & troubleshooting, and start-up or shutdown of Utilities in the Manufacturing Process.

3.To verify raw material COA and carry out unloading activities. Record the receipt of the material and aids in inventory control by recording raw material and product storage levels at prescribed intervals. Responsible for the verification of condition of incoming/outgoing trucks/isotank.

4.Communicate effectively with preceding and following shifts to maintain an orderly transition at shift change. 

5.Closely monitors and controls the process at the control panel and at the field to keep the process in normal & safe operation. Ensure all operation operate accordance to SOP.

• a) Prevents off-normal conditions by watching evidence of good operation.
• b) Detects abnormal conditions as soon as it occur, perform troubleshoots to determine
• the cause and to recover the abnormal back to normal condition.
• c) Collects and records all process data and able to determine the needful action base on
• the data collected.
• d) Collects and labels samples of process streams for analysis by the laboratory.
• e) Uses the laboratory analysis as evidence of good operation, making process corrections
• as necessary.
• f) Starts up, operates and shuts down the process equipment properly and safely.
• g) Accountable for the process performance e.g., OEE/AEM, production yield & give away
• & etc.

6. Conduct process safety interlock check and carry out yearly maintenance shutdown for A&F.
7. Ensure and maintain all operation procedures are up to date.

CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENT
1. Identify and implement continuous process improvement in Amination and formulation process.
2. Perform Lean assessment and assist in Lean initiative implementation.
3. Support and involve in departmental ad-hoc or special project such as installation new equipment etc.
4. Responsible for training of Process operator & contract worker. Identify gap in term of skill competency or SOP standard requirement. Plan and carry out the
training program to ensure the training skill are met for current and future demands of the shift.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Responsible for safety and housekeeping in designated areas.
2. Performing duties with safety awareness all times and regularly carry out inspection on all safety equipment in the area.
3.Serves on the Plant Emergency/Fire Brigade and understands how to handle emergencies that arise.
4.Report for any abnormality.

MANAGEMENT:
1. Assist in preparation of production reports e.g., weekly/monthly report & etc.
2. Assist on monthly/year end stock take and analyze the causes of inventory variances if any.
3. Manage process contract worker safety and performance.
4. Assist in non-conformance or incident investigation.
5. Carry out daily SAP OPO transaction.
6. Involve and provide support for internal or external QESH or PS audits

REQUIREMENT 

1. Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing with minimum 2 years related working experience in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas industrial.

2. Proficient in MS Office application and ability to learn new software/system application as needed for performing the assign task.

3. Experience in operation via distributed control system (DCS) will be added advantage.Good knowledge in P&D and AutoCAD added advantages.

4. Experience use of SAP OPO module is preferable.

5. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and knowledgeable in Lean Methodology.

6. Forklift driving certificate is preferable.

7. Effective communication and writing skills (Both Malay and English).
