Who We Need

Your main responsibilities include:

Care of the Equipment

• Daily checks on all ventilators and electrical machines to ensure that they are clean and in good working order.
• Trouble-shoots and rectifies minor equipment problems.
• Checks that preventive servicing of equipment is done as per maintenance schedule.
• Checks the inventory of all equipment in OT as specified by the OT Manager.

Preparation for Surgery

• Ensures that all fixtures and accessories are available and in good working order.
• Positions and sets up equipment as per doctor's requirement.
• Checks that all gas cylinders, tourniquets and cryo machines are within the correct pressures for use.

Care of the Patient

• Helps to transfer and position the patient onto the operating table.
• Ensures that the diathermy pads are placed correctly.
• Ensures that the patient's pressure points are well protected.
• Assists the Anaesthetist in the induction of general/ local anaesthesia.
• Circulates for the scrub nurse when required.

Others

• Updates constantly on knowledge of medical technologies, and methods of cleaning, storing and servicing of medical equipment.
• Responsible for the training of new Technicians.
• Available for stand-by in an emergency.
