Roles & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the speech-language therapist with screening or assessments for students with speech, language, communication and feeding needs, without clinical interpretation
- Collaborate with the parents, teachers and the other allied health professionals to provide multi-disciplinary support to the students
- Provide therapy following an intervention plan developed by the speech-language therapist
- Select and prepare functional activities and recommendations to match students’ skills and interests
- Assist with administrative duties
- Prepare therapy materials
- Maintain inventory of resources
- Maintain records and documentation of assessment and intervention
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Holder Requirements & Attributes
- Possess a relevant skills certificate from a recognised institution (e.g. WSQ Healthcare (Therapy Support) or CAE Professional Certificate in Speech Therapy Assistance)
- Prior experience working with people with special needs will be an added advantage
- Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
- Able to relate well to people and work effectively and harmoniously within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Candidates with GCE ‘O’ level certificate (including a pass in English) and/or relevant experience can also be considered for this role.
