Roles & Responsibilities

The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:

 

  • Handle the daily purchasing duties as required of the hotel including the checking and sending out of purchase orders (daily market list, beverage, general supplies & store items).
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager to appraise product and credibility of suppliers.
  • Ensure all purchase requisitions and orders are handled on time. Respond immediately to order or supply arising to out of stock, late delivery, and shortage of stock in the market.
  • To create article code, vendor data and price code.
  • To source for suppliers upon user request.
  • Prepare comparative analysis of suppliers’ prices. To tabulate all quotations and come up with price comparisons across suppliers.
  • Obtain the best value product at the lowest market price consistent with established quality standards and delivery schedules and monitor purchase orders if deliveries are made on time.
  • Update price quotations for market list, general supplies items and services.
  • Provide constant and accurate information to the Purchasing Manager on market conditions, product availability, and season and price trends.
  • Clarify with suppliers on any discrepancy on the purchase order and invoice prices.
  • Check specifications of characteristics in all products required, keep up-to-date file for easy reference.
  • To ensure all controls and procedures are always in place.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management
