Job Description

A Maintenance Technician (Electrical & Instrumentation) supports the maintenance, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Position Overview

Support the maintenance, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems.

Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system failures to minimize production downtime.

Repair or support mechanical maintenance activities when required.

Conduct routine inspections, testing, calibration, and servicing of equipment.

Maintain and improve equipment reliability through systematic maintenance practices.

Support production operations by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Guide and assist production personnel in dismantling machinery and equipment for cleaning and reassembly.

Maintain compliance with safety and manufacturing standards including GMP, ISO, HSE, and Halal requirements.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, schedules, calibration records, work orders, and repair documentation.

Participate in audits and support EHS initiatives to promote a safe working environment.

Identify opportunities for process and maintenance improvements and support Lean initiatives.

Coordinate and supervise contractors, support engineering projects, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Performance Expectations

Within 3 months: Understand maintenance procedures, safety standards, and plant equipment.

Within 6 months: Perform routine maintenance independently and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Within 12 months: Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues, support engineering projects, and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation & Control, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in regulated industries such as food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.

Hands-on experience with automation systems including PLC, SCADA, and process control systems is advantageous.

Valid Chargeman Certification recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is required.

Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and preventive practices.

Familiarity with GMP, ISO, HSE, and regulatory compliance.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Physically fit to perform maintenance tasks and willing to work shifts or standby as needed.
