Position Details

Position Title: Boilerman Grade 1

Department: Maintenance – Utilities

Reports To: Utility Engineer / Utility Manager

Working Details & Benefits

Location: Senai

Working Hours: 12-hour shift (Day: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Night: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM)

Working Days: 4 days work, 2 days off

Overtime: Up to 2.5 hours per day

Insurance Coverage: Provided

Attendance Allowance: RM5/day (approx. RM110/month)

Transport Allowance: RM3.50/day (approx. RM77/month)

Meal Allowance: RM7/day (approx. RM154/month)

Night Shift Allowance: RM5/day (approx. RM110/month)

Job Summary

The Boilerman is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of boiler systems and utility equipment within the plant.

This role ensures efficient steam generation and distribution while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

The Boilerman will perform troubleshooting, preventive and predictive maintenance, and support the overall utilities system including compressed air, chilled water, wastewater, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.

The Boilerman is expected to uphold CityRecruit values of customer service, teamwork, and collaboration with production, maintenance, and support teams.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret technical documents such as blueprints, P&ID diagrams, piping schematics, and electrical drawings

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot boilers and steam systems, compressors, chillers, and air handling systems, HVAC and refrigeration systems

Perform installation and maintenance of AC/DC motors, valves, and control systems

Conduct equipment testing using tools such as multimeters, pH meters, and other diagnostic instruments

Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability

Monitor and maintain plant utility systems including: compressed air, chilled water, treated and wastewater systems

Ensure all maintenance activities meet operational and safety standards

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company policies

Communicate effectively with internal teams to support operational requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of boiler systems and steam distribution, natural gas systems and related safety practices

Familiar with local boiler regulations and safety standards

Knowledge in PLC troubleshooting and DCS systems, preventive maintenance systems (e.g., SAP PM)

Good understanding of PPE, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), and industrial safety practices

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Education

Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate (registered with JKKP)

Knowledge in motors & controls (AC/DC), valves and pumps, HVAC systems

Experience

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in plant utilities or maintenance

Experience in industrial DCS systems, compressed air systems, centralized chillers and cooling towers, process control and instrumentation is an added advantage

Experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus
