Oversee workplace safety, health, environmental and fire protection activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company requirements. Monitor site safety practices, contractor activities, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, fire protection systems and environmental compliance.
Skills
Main Role
Support the EHS Manager in implementing occupational safety, health, environmental, and fire protection programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant Malaysian legal requirements and company EHS standards.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance.
Coordinate emergency preparedness and fire protection activities.
Support incident reporting, investigation, corrective actions, and verification of action closure.
Promote safety culture, employee awareness, and compliance through training and engagement activities
Support environmental compliance, waste management, and pollution prevention initiatives.
Key Accountability & Task
Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and audits.
Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements.
Verify implementation of HIRARC and control measures.
Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessment activities.
Monitor PPE compliance and workplace housekeeping.
Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and initiate corrective actions.
Conduct contractor onboarding and safety induction.
Monitor contractor compliance during work execution.
Participate in joint inspections with fire protection contractors and maintenance teams.
Follow up with contractors on defects, repairs, servicing, testing, and certification activities.
Monitor completion of corrective actions arising from fire system inspections.
Verify fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, fire pumps, deluge systems, and fire alarm systems are maintained in serviceable condition.
Support emergency response drills and evacuation exercises.
Assist Emergency Response Team (ERT) competency development and training.
Support waste management compliance
Monitor scheduled waste storage and disposal activities.
Conduct EHS inductions and toolbox talks.
Assist on safety campaigns and awareness programs.
Assist on gas check for Confined Space activities.
Assist on checking for Working at Height activities.
Assist on checking for the lifting plan activities.
Competency:
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health
Posses Valid Safety Site Supervisor (SSS) registered with DOSH
Posses valid AESP, AGTES
Good written and verbal communication skill preferable English & Bahasa Melayu
Minimum 1 year working experience.
